About the NSS Unit

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a flagship public service program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The NSS unit at Sree Chaitanya College, Habra promotes the motto "Not Me But You", encouraging volunteers to appreciate the community needs, develop civic responsibility, and coordinate disaster relief, environmental preservation, and social work.

Community Welfare

Volunteers work on child education, local literacy, sanitization drives, and rural assistance.

Environmental Care

Promotes plastic-free zones, eco-consciousness, and reforestation drives in adopted regions.

Civic Integration

Develops national integration, democratic leadership, and democratic social responsibilities.

Relief Campaign
We Fight Against COVID-19

During the pandemic, the NSS volunteers of Sree Chaitanya College, Habra acted as frontline COVID warriors. They distributed masks, sanitizers, and essential food items, and created awareness displays urging the community to stay safe, stay home, and keep social distance.

Voluntary Blood Donation

Regular donor registration camps organized in association with district blood banks to support regional hospitals.

Health & Hygiene Rallies

Public rallies promoting sanitization awareness, dengue prevention, and mental health discussions in local municipalities.
